Nexient Learning Announces the Launch of Business Recovery Solutions and the Resignation of a Board Member

    SYDNEY, NS, June 16 /CNW/ - Nexient Learning Inc. (NEX: NXL-H.V) Canada's
largest provider of skills and talent development, announced today its new
solutions for organizations and individuals and business networking
initiatives that provide recovery support for the Canadian marketplace.
Nexient remains firmly focused on the customer: providing organizations
and individuals with the skill and talent solutions they need to manage their
businesses and their careers. We believe that connecting executives to other
executives and business practitioners to specialists will create a community
of support and promote the use of best practices to accelerate economic
recovery. As well, the post recession era will have new business norms layered
on the fundamental competencies of today that will require innovative training
methods.

    - Nexient's Executive Speaker Series has attracted over 850 executives
and senior managers to hear how top-tier organizations like Canada
Post, Deloitte, Rogers, and Bell Aliant have worked with Nexient to
address their leadership and development challenges and achieve
measureable return on investment. At the same time, the company's new
webinar series, focused on disciplines relating to Business Process
Improvement, has attracted almost 400 individuals to the first three
      webinars.
    - Nexient has developed four fundamental programs in the company's
Leadership and Business Solutions line of business focused on critical
business issues. These programs address business challenges that exist
regardless of the economic cycle and companies who develop the
capability to hire, enable, retain and advance talented employees have
a sustainable competitive advantage. Launching in the next 30 days are:

        - Interviewing and Selection, and OnBoarding both address the need
for organizations to attract and select the right talent and reduce
the time to productivity of new employees. Early productivity of
strong hires yields measurable returns for organizations.
        - Leadership Potential Assessment and Succession Management address
the growing needs of organizations in identifying and grooming the
next generation of senior leaders. Mid and long term leadership
development plans for organizations and their key talent will
become even more critical as a growing number of baby boomers exit
          the workforce.

    - Nexient has also develop five new short duration, high impact programs
have just been introduced focused on the new realities being faced by
individuals and organizations; all five are being introduced first to
      the hard-hit Ontario marketplace:

        - Service Excellence - for organizations realizing that customer
service is now more important than ever
        - Leading Through Transformation - recognizing that fundamental
change is upon us, and that leaders and managers must adapt their
skills and their styles to this new reality
        - Beyond the Predicament - a facilitated problem-solving process
based on Nexient's "Predicament Processor" - a powerful set of
hands-on tools that help individuals and teams see beyond current
challenges to see solutions they will need if they are to thrive in
          future.
        - Practical Project Management - designed to help professionals and
white collar workers add value to their contribution to their
employer, or to stand out in a crowded job market
        - Computers in the Office - a short program for displaced workers who
need help adjusting to life as an information worker

    - Individuals and Organizations facing constrained training and travel
budgets can continue to develop their employees and retain strategic
initiatives using Nexient's virtual classroom and remote training
options. Pilot tests have been conducted with key clients and targeted
open-enrollment classes over the past quarter, enabling Nexient to
offer a robust platform and rich learning experience, while avoiding
the quality issues that have plagued competitive offerings. This
platform can be used to deliver training on Nexient's or the client's
      curriculum.

"Nexient believes that skills and talent development for retained and
displaced employees will be a critical factor in the economic recovery. We
continue to work with our clients on their fundamental business challenges and
to design innovative programs and curriculum development to help them address
the new challenges of reduced workforces, employee retention and re-skilling
of existing teams," said Donna de Winter, President and CEO of Nexient. "These
programs range from our virtual classroom offerings that allow clients to
receive the same quality training for their employees without the expense of
travel to our practical project management and front line service programs
that offer tangible survival skills for all employees."
Nexient's Board has regretfully accepted the resignation of Ken Rotman
from the Board of Directors effective June 10, 2009. Mr. Rotman offers his
support to both management and the Board of Directors however other time
demands do not permit the time required to serve on Nexient's board.
