New Representative Plaintiff Comes Forward
TORONTO, Dec. 7 /CNW/ - Monday Dec. 10th lawyers representing claimants
in the unpaid overtime class action against CIBC, will provide details of the
new class action they are initiating against a second national Canadian bank.
On June 5th, 2007, Douglas Elliott, Partner, Roy Elliott Kim O'Connor LLP
and Louis Sokolov, Partner, Sack Goldblatt Mitchell LLP introduced the lead
plaintiff Dara Fresco and the details of her complaint against CIBC for unpaid
overtime. Fresco represents current and former non-management employees of
CIBC in the largest employment-related class action ever undertaken in Canada.
On November 15th, 2007 plaintiff's lawyers filed evidence in support of
certifying the class action from current and former CIBC employees
representing every province and two territories. This evidence confirms that
Fresco's complaints are common among CIBC employees across the country.
On Monday, Elliott and Sokolov will introduce the lead plaintiff in the
new unpaid overtime lawsuit, the second against a major Canadian bank.
