economist Riccardo Petrella address the Communications, Energy and
Paperworkers Union national convention at the Palais des congrès in Montreal,
on Monday, Oct. 27 at 9:30 a.m.
Dr. Petrella will speak on the need for a new world economy that includes
the interests of workers, a topical subject given the current economic crisis
and the loss of tens of thousands of jobs in the forest industry. CEP is
Canada's largest union in several key sectors of the economy: forests, oil and
gas exploration, telecommunications and the media
Professor Petrella is an economist and a political scientist who
currently teaches at l'Université Suisse Italienne in Switzerland.
