Portable Monitor Adds to High Temperature Corrosion Monitoring
TSX Venture Exchange symbol: FOX
TORONTO, Sept. 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Fiber Optic Systems Technology, Inc.
("FOX-TEK"), (TSX-V: FOX), a developer and manufacturer of patented
non-intrusive sensing systems, today announced the fall release of two new
products in the PinPoint FOX-TEK lineup adding the capability to monitor
corrosion in refineries and other markets where high temperatures are present.
Eric Kubian, Director of EFM Technology for PinPoint FOX-TEK said, "We've
developed a portable monitoring instrument based on our successful remote data
acquisition platform. We've also broadened our Electric Field Mapping (EFM)
sleeve line to include welded pins. Together, these new products let us put
permanent corrosion monitoring sensors onto refinery or process plant piping
that is up to 1000 degrees F and take readings frequently, to ensure safe
operation." Mr. Kubian continued, "The portable monitor and high temperature
sensor sleeve really let us address a huge part of the corrosion monitoring
market we hadn't tapped into before."
The introduction of the portable EFM monitor this fall brings an added
bonus to PinPoint FOX-TEK's capabilities. Now FOX-TEK can revive sites where
clients have prior generation EFM-type systems installed and are no longer
receiving data. This backward compatibility gives FOX-TEK the opportunity to
add real value to client's integrity management programs.
Dr Essam Zaghloul, president and CEO of FOX-TEK said, "These new products
are a tremendous addition to the PinPoint suite. We're now able to provide
clients in the important petrochemical, oil and gas, and other areas with cost
effective ways to track corrosion problems in "hot" and hard to reach areas.
Fiber Optic Systems Technology, Inc. "FOX-TEK" develops non-intrusive
asset health monitoring sensor systems for the oil and gas market to help
operators track the thinning of pipelines and refinery vessels due to
corrosion/erosion, strain due to bending/buckling, and process pressure and
temperature. FOX-TEK's FT fiber optic sensor and Pinpoint systems allow
cost-effective, 24/7 remote monitoring capabilities to improve scheduled
maintenance operations, avoid unnecessary shutdowns, and prevent accidents and
FOX-TEK has offices in Toronto, ON, Calgary, AB, Houston, TX, Mexico
City, Mexico, and Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. FOX-TEK is traded on the TSX
