NEW EXPANSION PROJECT FOR MONTRÉAL GENERAL HOSPITAL (MUHC, DE LA MONTAGNE SITE) : PRESENTATION OF BRIEFS STARTS TOMORROW NIGHT

MONTREAL, June 26, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - The Office de consultation publique de Montréal announces that the presentation of briefs  on the new version of the Montréal General Hospital expansion project will start on Monday June 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the offices of the OCPM, at 1550 Metcalfe Street, 14th floor (Peel Metro Station). A second evening, same hour and same location, will be held the day after, Tuesday, June 28. More than twenty briefs were tabled before the commission.

The new draft differs from the one previously adopted in many ways. Firstly, contrary to the original plans, the Institut neurologique de Montréal will not be set up on the Montréal General site, also designated as the MUHC de la Montagne site. Moreover, the new plans call for the integration of a building acquired by the hospital, located at 1750 Cedar Avenue, resulting in a less extensive conversion of the existing buildings. The planned underground parking garage has also been replaced by a partially underground indoor parking facility.

All available information on the project may be obtained at the offices of the OCPM, 1550 Metcalfe Street, suite 1414, and at the Direction du greffe at City Hall, 275 Notre-Dame Street East. The documentation is also available on the Office Website, at www.ocpm.qc.ca.
