TORONTO, Dec. 4 /CNW/ - The Globe and Mail, the Canadian Foundation for
Economic Education (CFEE), and the Investor Education Fund have launched a
free curriculum tool for Canadian high school teachers and their students. The
Globe and Mail Classroom Edition is a specialized online site designed to help
teachers integrate current news and events into classroom instruction.
Each month during the school year - from September to May - 20 new Globe
and Mail articles will be posted on www.globeclassroom.ca along with
customized lesson plans designed by leading educators. Article topics will
include money, financial planning and investing, business and
entrepreneurship, the economy, politics and international affairs, and the
environment. Many of the articles will also include relevant videos and links.
Past content will be archived and available as an ongoing resource for
teachers who will be able to easily access, review, and print any of the
articles and lesson plans for use in the classroom.
The Globe and Mail Classroom Edition will also offer additional features
and links, including continuous news feeds from globeandmail.com and
up-to-the-minute access to breaking stories supplemented by specially
developed support resources.
