New Balance Partners with Sport Chek to Launch Women's Only Designated Areas

Global sports brand set to expand women's apparel collection into 186 Sport Chek doors

TORONTO, March 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Global athletic leader New Balance is expanding its footprint in the women's apparel category with a designated women's only retail space within all Sport Chek stores across Canada. The New Balance Space is a unique apparel retail concept for all women, with specific appeal for the metropolitan female athlete. The cross-Canada initiative will launch on March 13th and run until May 27th, 2017, and will offer customers a curated collection of women's fitness apparel inspired by athletes' love of sport, drive to discover what's next, and passion for what's possible.

The inspiration behind the design of the retail space, which features a concrete background, is rooted in New Balance's notable running heritage and is elevated with inspiring Lifestyle and Performance imagery that speaks directly to the Metropolitan Female Athlete.

"With a heritage and authenticity established with footwear, our customers can now complete a head-to-toe performance, training or lifestyle ensemble that will help them pursue any activity they choose in style."

New Balance is anticipated to grow significantly in apparel in 2017 with consumers demanding more offerings and capsules to address their versatile lifestyle.  Woodman attributes the brand's deep understanding of the consumer and her wants and needs as validation for our contributing success. Through images available on sportchek.ca and the brand's own campaign materials, the initiative embodies the spirit of female athletes and women with demanding lifestyles, alike. The campaign slogan "Balanced Body, Balanced Mind", captures the brand's conscious effort women make to obtain a balanced lifestyle.

The campaign launch will leverage the audiences of regional female influencers in the lifestyle and fitness categories, in addition to New Balance's lineup of brand ambassadors and fitness experts. Components will all work to generate awareness and excitement through consumer contests, styling suggestions and apparel/sport pairings from the NB Women line from regional influencers and NB ambassadors.
