New Angriest WHOPPER® Sandwich With Red Bun Debuts at BURGER KING® Restaurants

TORONTO, March 30, 2016 /CNW/ - BURGER KING® restaurants are unveiling the Angriest WHOPPER®, a furiously delicious sandwich atop a fiery red bun, baked with hot sauce. The Angriest WHOPPER® sandwich packs a punch in every infuriating bite with crispy angry onion petals, spicy angry sauce and zesty jalapenos piled high atop flame-grilled beef and layered with crispy bacon, melted cheese, iceberg lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and creamy mayonnaise between the red-hot bun. 

To help unveil this product to the world, the BURGER KING® brand invited volcano specialist, and co-creator and host of "Angry Planet" George Kourounis, to guide four of the biggest ANGRY WHOPPER® sandwich enthusiasts from around the world on the adventure of a lifetime -- the opportunity to flame grill the brand's signature 100% beef patties over the angriest fire of all: fire retrieved from the depths of the raging Pacaya Volcano in Guatemala. Now, that's the Angriest WHOPPER® sandwich ever. The film of the adventure can be seen on BURGER KING® Canada's social channels including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, as of March 31, 2016.

BURGER KING® restaurants' flavour-infused coloured buns started in Japan with the Premium Kuro black burger and followed more recently in 2015 with the red Samauri burger. Last September, BURGER KING® restaurants in the United States and several other countries debuted the Halloween WHOPPER® sandwich with a pitch-black bun. The sandwich became a huge hit. This year, the Angriest WHOPPER® sandwich turns up the heat on the popular ANGRY WHOPPER® sandwich, by layering on the spice and featuring the flaming red, hot sauce bun.

The Angriest WHOPPER® sandwich will be available across the country as of April 4th for a limited time only in participating BURGER KING® Canada restaurants.
