TORONTO, Aug. 20 /CNW/ - Navina Capital Corp. is pleased to announce that
a preliminary prospectus has been filed with the securities regulatory
authorities in each of the Canadian provinces and territories except for
Quebec for Navina Diversified Flow-Through Limited Partnership (the
"Partnership"), a limited partnership created for the purpose of investing in
flow-through shares ("Flow-Through Shares") of resource issuers engaged in oil
and gas or mining exploration, development and/or production or certain
renewable/alternative energy projects.
The Partnership's investment objectives are to achieve capital
appreciation according to the investment strategies and to maximize the tax
benefits received by investors.
To pursue its investment objectives, the Partnership will invest in
Flow-Through Shares of resource companies engaged in oil and gas or mining
exploration, development and/or production or certain energy production that
may incur certain start-up phase costs of renewable/alternative energy
projects. The allocation of the Partnership's investment portfolio will be
determined based on the investment opportunities available at the time of
investment. The Partnership will endeavour to invest the net proceeds of the
offering on or before December 31, 2009.
The general partner of the Partnership is Navina Diversified Management
Corp. (the "General Partner"). The General Partner will manage the business
and ongoing affairs of the Partnership.
Lawrence Asset Management Inc. (the "Portfolio Advisor") has been
retained by the General Partner to select potential investments, advise the
Partnership and manage the Partnership's investment portfolio. Glenn MacNeill,
Chief Investment Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager of the Portfolio
Advisor, is the lead portfolio manager of the Portfolio Advisor who will be
primarily responsible for the investment portfolio of the Partnership.
