appointments to support clients' success in an increasingly complex business
environment, National Managing Partner John Crean announced today.
These senior communications consultants, whose appointments are effective
immediately, will support NATIONAL's clients across Canada and in London and
- Ben Chin - Vice President, Media Strategy - helps clients navigate
changes in traditional and new media, that require more sophisticated
strategies to educate, influence and persuade consumers, employees,
shareholders and citizens.
- Carolyn Ray - Vice President, Employee Engagement - offers clients
insights and counsel to address the internal implications of change
and the vital role employees play in business performance, including
the competition to attract and retain the most talented people.

Carolyn Ray joins NATIONAL from the brand consultancy Interbrand, where
she led the global Internal Brand Engagement practice. Previously, she used
her experience in internal communications, marketing, and training at a
Toronto-based software company and as Vice President of a national public
relations agency. She has also worked extensively in the public sector.
Carolyn's role is to collaborate with communications, human resources and
senior management teams to create and implement high-impact programs that
optimize workforce engagement, particularly in times of change. Carolyn will
leverage her understanding of organizational culture, analytics,
communications and human resources to drive more creative and strategic
approaches to internal communications that inspire and motivate employees to
deliver on business goals.
Ben Chin joins NATIONAL from the Office of the Ontario Premier, where he
served as Senior Media Adviser to Dalton McGuinty. Ben's experience as a
television journalist includes guest-hosting CBC's The National, and anchoring
at CBC Newsworld, Ben also reported as Atlantic Bureau Chief for CTV National
News and, earlier, at Toronto's Citytv.
Ben's role is to provide strategic advice to help clients navigate
traditional and online media more effectively, identify opportunities to
achieve business objectives through effective media relations, offer
sophisticated communications training for various audiences, and to provide
issues and crisis management.
