TORONTO, June 4 /CNW/ - The National Magazine Awards Foundation (NMAF)
still has tickets available to the 30th Anniversary National Magazine Awards
Gala on June 15th at the Carlu in Toronto. Tickets may be purchased online at
www.magazine-awards.com. There are tickets available for seats in the Concert
Hall's balcony ($90), and for entrance to the Round Room ($75). All tickets

In preparation for its 30th anniversary Gala on June 15th, the NMAF is
presenting an online retrospective of 30 years of National Magazine Awards. If
you love Canadian Magazines, go online and vote for your favourite magazine
cover of the past 30 years, take the NMA trivia quiz, catch up with past
winners, and more. The retrospective can be found on the NMAF website at
www.magazine-awards.com.
The complete list of finalists for this year's National Magazine Awards
is online at www.magazine-awards.com. On April 23 in Montreal, the NMAF
announced the finalists for awards in 37 categories from more than 2,100
entries across Canada. The three finalists for the coveted title of Magazine
of the Year are L'actualité, Explore and The Walrus. The NMAF will present
Gold, Silver and Honourable Mention awards on June 15th, 2007 at the Carlu in
Toronto.
The host of this year's National Magazine Awards Gala on June 15th will
be author, columnist, and eminent funnyman Scott Feschuk. Scott has written
for The Globe and Mail, the National Post, CBC TV's This Hour Has 22 Minutes
and Maclean's, and is a principal with Feschuk.Reid, a speechwriting and
communications firm for senior executives.
The NMAF recently unveiled its new logo to coincide with its 30th
Anniversary in 2007. The award-winning designers Hambly & Woolley Inc. of
Toronto created the new logo. "We're delighted with our new logo's energy and
simplicity," said Kim Pittaway, President of NMAF. "With its stylized 'C' for
Canada and its fanning magazine pages, Hambly and Woolley have created a
visual identity for us that we're confident will carry the Foundation into our
next 30 years."
