Multiplied Media named as Innovator Nominee in GSMA's Mobile Innovation Grand Prix EMEA tournament



    CALGARY, May 21 /CNW/ - Multiplied Media Corporation (TSX:V MMC), a
Calgary-based provider of mobile local search services ("Multiplied"), is
pleased to announce they have been named as an Innovator Nominee in the EMEA
(Europe, Middle East & Africa) tournament of the GSMA's (Global System for
Mobile Association) Mobile Innovation 'Grand Prix.'
    Multiplied was selected to compete against one other company in the Most
Innovative Consumer Application category and will be vying for the position of
EMEA Category Winner during the GSMA Mobile Innovation EMEA Event, which is
being held as part of the HiT Barcelona World Innovation Summit, in Barcelona,
Spain, June 18 - 19, 2009. A panel comprised of senior executives from mobile
operators and venture capital firms will review ten companies in total,
competing in five categories in the tournament. Two overall winners will win a
trip to compete for the Mobile Innovation Grand Prix Cup at the Mobile World
Congress in February 2010.
    Throughout the competition Multiplied will be showcasing Poynt, its
award-winning local search application, scheduled to launch in Germany later
this month. Poynt has become well known in North America for its business and
movie search features as well as the easy-to-use interface.
    The Mobile Innovation Grand Prix was created by the GSMA as part of its
Mobile Innovation initiative, with the primary goal of showcasing promising
entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized companies who are introducing
innovative products and services.
