TORONTO, Oct. 8 /CNW/ - MTS Allstream Inc. ("MTS Allstream") is pleased
to announce it has been awarded the Canadian Project Excellence ("CPEX") award
in Best Practices in partnership with the Ontario Association of Community
Care Access Centres ("OACCAC") at the CPEX Awards Gala. The Best Practices
award recognizes outstanding performance and achievement through the
application of recognized project management best practices. MTS Allstream was
recognized for its Voice over Internet Protocol ("VoIP") Implementation
Project to 14 Community Care Access Centres across Ontario ("CCACs").
"It was a great pleasure to accept the CPEX Award for our project
management for the OACCAC project at last night's awards gala," said John A.
MacDonald, President Enterprise Solutions, MTS Allstream. "In assisting the
CCACs in furthering their mission, our process adapted the core philosophies
of client and team focus, leveraging partnerships of three parties - the
OACCAC, the CCACs, and MTS Allstream - and following diligent project
management around the deployment of the solution."
In January 2007, the CCACs were realigned, reducing the former 42 CCACs
down to 14. This presented the challenge of bringing together disparate phone
systems, business process and staff into the 14 larger organizations. The
timing of the VoIP program offered MTS Allstream the opportunity to begin
addressing this challenge and offering the CCACs a means of providing tools
and building business process to better serve Ontarians.
"Among the many things that impressed me about MTS Allstream during the
creation of our partnership was their commitment to a Best Practice approach.
Their understanding and articulation of critical success factors for a
successful design, deployment and adoption of this new technology, aligned
with our own values and commitment to excellence," said Kevin Arbour, Vice
President & Chief Information Officer, OACCAC. "I look forward to this next
phase of the project where the full potential of this technology will be
unleashed, supporting the business and operational needs of the CCACs as they
continue their mission in providing the best possible health care services to
the people of Ontario."
"The project methodology implemented by MTS Allstream as part of the
overall OACCAC Provincial VoIP Program has been a key contributor to the
significant success of the program for our CCAC clients," said Richard
Huffman, Director of Telecom Programs, OACCAC. "The CPEX award is a
testimonial to the three-way partnership between MTS Allstream, the CCACs, and
the OACCAC to help improve CCAC operations and service delivery to the
thousands of Ontarians that the CCACs serve."
"We are very pleased with our VoIP solution. MTS Allstream, working in
conjunction with the OACCAC and our staff, ensured that we had a very smooth
and effective implementation and never missed a call. This technology moves us
one step closer to having technology systems that are client-centric and staff
friendly," said Bill Innes, Executive Director of the North Simcoe Muskoka
CCAC.
