MTS Allstream adds Microsoft(R) Office Communications Server 2007 to its Collaboration Suite



    Feature rich unified communications tool takes collaboration to the next

    TORONTO, Oct. 16 /CNW/ - MTS Allstream's "Allstream Collaboration Suite"
(ACS) has been enhanced by adding the new Microsoft unified communications
product, Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. ACS users will simplify
their collaboration experience, ensuring the timely access to people and
information that is required to succeed in today's competitive marketplace.
    The Allstream Collaboration Suite takes full advantage of Microsoft
unified communications technologies, integrating them in a hosted environment,
to allow geographically dispersed employees, customers, vendors and partners
to communicate in real-time from any access point, simply with an Internet
connection. The addition of Office Communications Server 2007 takes the
functionality of the Allstream Collaboration Suite to the next level and
includes: security-enhanced instant messaging, enhanced presence, telephony
integration, web conferencing and multi-party audio/video communication.
    In addition, MTS Allstream was chosen by Microsoft to participate in its
Technology Adoption Program for Office Communications Server 2007.

enhancements and associated benefits of Office Communications Server 2007
first hand and provide input into its development," said Eric Fletcher, Senior

Canada. MTS Allstream is also pleased to announce that it has successfully
tested interoperability between Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007
with its IP Trunking service. The test confirms compatibility between Office
Communicator Server 2007 and IP Trunking without the need for costly telephony
gateways.
    With MTS Allstream IP Trunking, customers can leverage their IP data
connectivity to seamlessly connect to the Public Switched Telephone Network
(PSTN). MTS Allstream is the first Canadian service provider to offer IP
Trunking nationally.
