More Trees Please! Aveeno(R) Partners with Tree Canada to "Take Action to Inspire Natural Beauty"

TORONTO, June 19 /CNW/ - This summer, Aveeno(R) and Tree Canada are
pleased to announce a joint initiative that invites Canadians to Take Action
to Inspire Natural Beauty. Aveeno will make a $30,000 donation to Tree Canada
who will use the proceeds to plant much needed trees in communities across the
country. Together both organizations will be helping to provide shade in
schoolyards by greening 10 school grounds as well as planting 2,500 young
trees. The program launched today with a tree-planting ceremony at Carlton
Village Public School in downtown Toronto. Aveeno Brand Manager Annie Brunelle
and Tree Canada Spokesperson, Olympic Skier and Order of Canada Member Laurie
Graham were both on-hand to help with the planting and nurturing of the first
tree. To learn more about the Take Action to Inspire Natural Beauty program,
Canadians can visit www.aveeno.ca.
Recommended by dermatologists and pediatricians, Aveeno is committed to
identifying new natural technologies and developing breakthrough product
formulations. For over 60 years, Aveeno has been harnessing the power of
natural ingredients to improve the healthy look and beauty of skin. "We rely
on Mother Nature to provide us with the natural ingredients, such as shiitake
mushrooms, oatmeal, soy, chamomile and feverfew, for our Aveeno(R) Active
Naturals(TM) products," said Annie Brunelle, Brand Manager, Aveeno. "This Tree
Canada partnership seemed...natural! It is the perfect way to make a direct
impact on Canada's natural beauty and give back to the environment which
provides us with so much."
"Having spent most of my lifetime outdoors, I realize the important role
trees play in all of our lives," said Laurie Graham, Tree Canada spokesperson,
Olympic Skier and Order of Canada Member. "As a mother, I'm concerned that
future generations will be able to enjoy beautiful, natural outdoor spaces, as
I have. On behalf of Tree Canada, I want to thank Aveeno for taking action now
to help us preserve and promote these disappearing urban green areas."
