MONTREAL, March 14 /CNW Telbec/ - At the Annual General Meeting held on
March 13, 2007, Montréal Exchange shareholders elected their Board of
Directors for 2007-2008. In addition, Board members reelected Jean Turmel as
Chairman of the Board, and Carmand Normand as Vice-Chairman of the Board. The
names and titles of each of the eleven members are listed below.
New Board Member
Mr. Richard Schaeffer was elected as a new member to the Board for
2007-2008. Mr. Schaeffer is chairman of NYMEX Holdings, Inc., and the New York
Mercantile Exchange, Inc. Mr. Schaeffer has been a member of the board of
directors since March 1990. He was the treasurer of the Exchange from 1993 to
2004, the vice chairman from 2004 to 2006, and has been an executive committee
member since 1992.
Mr. Schaeffer has been an Exchange member and seat-owner since 1981. A
University of Maryland graduate, he was an executive director of global energy
futures for ABN Amro, Inc., and a conferring member on behalf of the company
and its predecessor, Chicago Corp., since 1987 on all of the New York
Retiring Boad Members
Two members are leaving the Board of Directors of the Montréal Exchange.
Mr. James T. Kiernan, Director, Cornerstone Capital Partners L.P., served on
the Board from 1994 to 2007.
Mr. Brian Walsh, Managing Member, Saguenay Capital, LLC, served on the
Board from 2004 to 2007.
