Monster Jam unveils new line up and exciting action for Toronto tour stop

Demolition Derby and Quad Wars back by popular demand

TORONTO, Jan. 9 /CNW/ - The world's most popular and spectacular truck
series thunders into ROGERS CENTRE with two breathtaking MONSTER JAM shows on
January 19 & 20, 2008. Mark your calendars, purchase your tickets and make
sure to be front and centre. The most dynamic trucks battle in side-by-side
racing as well as go full throttle in freestyle competition.
This year's event features ten must-see trucks including legendary GRAVE
DIGGER along with his favourite traveling partner MONSTER MUTT. In addition,
SUPERMAN, SAFE AUTO MINIMIZER, SPIKE, WRECKING CREW, DOMINATOR, FULL BOAR, RAP
ATTACH AND TRASHER will all be on hand to dazzle the crowd and crush the
competition on their way to taking the freestyle crown.
On a mission of destruction and demolition, these 10,000 pound monsters
are perfectly constructed to not let anything stand in their way while they
rumble across the finish line. With axles popping, chassis snapping and
engines exploding, they are sure to provide a spectacle of rock and roar that
is unparalleled in the motorsports arena.
Sitting atop 66-inch tall tires, these custom designed machines stand
approximately 11 feet tall and 12 feet wide. Built for short, high-powered
bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are
capable of speeds up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can jump distances
of 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and reach
heights up to 25 feet in the air. You won't see this kind of action anywhere
else.
Fans also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their
favourite trucks and drivers during the PIT PARTY on SATURDAY, JANUARY 19 from
2:00 - 5:00 pm. Fans can walk on the official Monster Jam track, see the
trucks up close, meet the drivers, take pictures and collect autographs. Pit
Passes are available to individuals with a Saturday event ticket only and may
be printed by visiting www.wutv.com and scrolling to the bottom of the page.
