Monique Leroux and Isabelle Hudon to co-chair - Foundation for Research into Children's Diseases' 25th "Bal des enfants"

MONTREAL, Oct. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Jean Tremblay, President of the
Foundation for Research into Children's Diseases, is proud to announce that
Monique Leroux, Chief Financial Officer, Mouvement Desjardins and Isabelle
Hudon, President and CEO, Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, will
co-chair the Foundation's 25th Annual "Bal des enfants". The theme of the ball
will be "Soirée des jeunes et des elles", and will be held at the TOHU, "la
Cité des arts du cirque", on Thursday October 18, 2007.

The co-presidents look forward to welcoming members of the media.

This year, the ball will bring together some of the most prestigious
women in Quebec's and Canada's cultural, artistic, business and political
community, as well as former Chairs of the "Bal", since its inception 25 years
ago. Traditionally, the ball provides a venue for bestowing the Foundation's
"Awards of Excellence" to researchers who have distinguished themselves among
their peers by the quality of their pediatric research projects. Major
partners contributing to these Awards this year include: Group Desjardins,
Ernst & Young, sanofi-aventis, BMO Nesbitt Burns, Bell Canada, Groupe CGI,
Pfizer Canada, Power Corporation, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Standard Life and
Ultramar.

The Foundation for Research into Children's Diseases, which hosted its
30th annual Telethon in 2006, has become, over the years, the largest source
of non-government funding for children's health research in Quebec, having
already distributed $53,114,000 to the four leading-edge hospital research
centres: the Montreal Children's Hospital, the CHU Sainte-Justine hospital,
the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec and the Centre hospitalier
universitaire de Sherbrooke, as well as to the newly established pan-Canadian
Maternal, Infant, Child an Youth Research Network.
