owner of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, NBA's Toronto Raptors and Air Canada
Centre, one of North America's premier and busiest sports and entertainment
venues, has selected Vortex Mobile's Shiftex platform to improve staff
scheduling and workforce management. Shiftex will aid in managing the
schedules of Air Canada Centre's 1,700 event staff including ushers, food and
beverage servers and gate attendants.
Shiftex, Vortex's patent-pending shift resolution tool, uses text
messaging (SMS), email and interactive voice recordings (IVR) to resolve last
minute shift cancellations in an efficient and equitable manner. Managers use
Shiftex to alert staff of shift openings by broadcasting the shift details to
relevant and available staff. The first employee to respond to an alert claims
the shift and the manager is notified by SMS. The shift status is also updated
in the platform's client interface.
