TORONTO, Jan. 9 /CNW/ - It's a wrap! 71 hours and 2 minutes is how long
it took for Mississauga's Ryan Grech to put his stamp on a new world record
for 'Continuous TV Viewing' and be awarded the $24,000 grand prize in Global
and Virgin Radio's 24 Ultimate Fan Marathon Contest.
Ryan officially won the cash prize today at 6:47pm EST, and held on for 1
hour and 2 minutes more to claim the world record title at 7:49pm EST.

awaited return to primetime. This adventure did not disappoint," said Jamie

Kicking off on Tuesday, January 6, the marathon concluded this evening at
Yorkdale Mall as Ryan, the only remaining contestant of the original nine,
stopped after nearly viewing the first five seasons of '24', consecutively.
The previous official record for this category in the Guinness Book of
World Records was 69 hours and 48 minutes.
