TORONTO, Sept. 2 /CNW/ - Mint Technology Corp. (TSX-V: MIT), today
announced that it has signed a contract with Yep! Mobile, ("Yep!") a Montreal
based mobile media company to provide prepaid cards through Facebook Platform
applications targeted at the youth phenomenon of "social gaming."
YEP! Mobile, and its group of companies specializes in CPA (performance
driven Cost Per Account) online marketing. YEP! owns and operates a
performance based CPA affiliate network (YEP! Revenue), and a large portion of
its affiliate inventory originates from social media platforms such as
Facebook(R) Platform. Through their social network niche, YEP! is able to
generate rapid and highly targeted customer acquisitions for products ranging
from mobile games to credit based campaigns.
Online social communities, such as Facebook(R), have become one of the
most prevalent hot spots for teens. Millions of Facebook users return to the
site each day, providing distribution potential for applications and the
opportunity to build a business that is highly relevant to people's lives, in
this case teens. YEP! helps advertisers, such as Mint, to leverage the power
of social communities by allowing them to target these young consumers through
YEP!'s affiliate network.
Games are becoming the most popular activity within teen social networks.
Mint's pre-paid teen MasterCard is one of the first in Canada to combine the
popularity of online social networks and financial products into one.
Mint's MasterCard will provide its card users with benefits linked to
social gaming activities.
With the rising popularity of social networks and social gaming, Mint's
card gives teens a way to connect their online interests with the real world.
Card users are able collect points which are then used to play the most
popular viral social games, to redeem for gifts, and to trade points with
friends or use for other applications.
Mr. Chris Hogg, President and CEO stated, "We are excited at this new
opportunity to provide teens with a prepaid card in today's online/virtual
world. Management believes that a prepaid card will develop as a practical
solution to pay for online gaming, which allows teenagers to gain financial
independence from reliance on their parents' credit cards. This is a great
opportunity for Mint to expand the distribution of prepaid cards for the youth
market and further build the business. Facebook(R) Platform offers deep
integration into the Facebook(R) website and delivers distribution through the
social graph. This is a highly leveragable opportunity to further grow our
business, and is a way for companies and developers to integrate with the
Facebook(R) website and gain access to its 132 million users."
