SEATTLE, WA, Aug. 4 /CNW/ - MicroPlanet, (MP:TSXV & MCTYF:OTC) a smart
grid, energy conservation company, is pleased to announce the appointment of
Mr. Kurt Maass as its Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Maass is a seasoned financial executive with a wide range of previous
experience in accounting, finance and corporate administration with former
responsibilities including Vice President Finance and Administration for a
start up technology growth company, Telecom Transport Management, which Mr.
Maass helped lead through a period of significant growth, and Vice President
and Division CFO of Wireless Network Services at AT&T Mobility. Mr. Maass
performed a variety of roles of increasing responsibility at McCaw Cellular
from its inception through to its sale to AT&T. Prior to AT&T, Mr. Mass was
senior consultant with Ernst & Young.
Mr. Maass' accounting experience includes working extensively with
Company auditors and managing cash reserves. Mr. Maass also has prior
experience in equity financings including selecting advisers, developing
message and models, road shows, negotiating shareholder agreements and closing
documents. He has successfully negotiated and closed equity financings and
debt facilities with banks and venture lenders. Mr. Maass also has extensive
operational experience in the areas of business development, regulatory
advocacy, human resources, sales, supply chain management and project
Mr. Maass has earned a Master of Arts, a Bachelor of Business
Administration and a CPA designation.
