MFDA Sets Date for Wayne Larson Hearing in Edmonton, Alberta



    TORONTO, May 22 /CNW/ - The Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada
("MFDA") commenced a disciplinary proceeding in respect of Wayne Larson by
Notice of Hearing dated July 2, 2008.
    As specified in the News Release dated April 15, 2009, an appearance in
this matter took place today by teleconference before a Hearing Panel of the
MFDA's Prairie Regional Council. Following submissions by the parties, the
hearing of this matter on its merits was scheduled to take place August 27-28,
2009 at 10:00 a.m. (Mountain) in Edmonton, Alberta, or as soon thereafter as
the hearing can be held. The location of hearing venue will be announced at a
later date.
    The hearing on the merits will be open to the public, except as may be
required for the protection of confidential matters.
    A copy of the Notice of Hearing is available on the MFDA website at
www.mfda.ca.

    The MFDA is the self-regulatory organization for Canadian mutual fund
dealers, regulating the operations, standards of practice and business conduct
of its 149 Members and their approximately 75,000 Approved Persons with a
mandate to protect investors and the public interest.
