MFDA Hearing Panel Reserves Judgment in Kerry Scharfenberg Hearing



    TORONTO, Jan. 6 /CNW/ - A disciplinary hearing in the matter of Kerry
Scharfenberg was held today in Edmonton, Alberta before a Hearing Panel of the
Prairie Regional Council of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada
("MFDA"). The Hearing Panel reserved its decision and advised that it would
issue its decision and written reasons in due course.
    A copy of the Notice of Hearing issued June 27, 2008 is available on the
MFDA website at www.mfda.ca.

    The MFDA is the self-regulatory organization for Canadian mutual fund
dealers, regulating the operations, standards of practice and business conduct
of its 153 Members and their approximately 75,000 Approved Persons with a
mandate to protect investors and the public interest.
