MERX partners with Airports Council International to launch Aerobidz, an e-tendering service for the global airport industry

    LONGUEUIL, QC, Nov. 29 /CNW Telbec/ - MERX, Canada's leading electronic
publishing service of government and private tenders and subsidiary of
Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc. (TSX: MDF), announced today it has
partnered with Geneva-based Airports Council International ("ACI"), the global
trade representative of airports, and launched Aerobidz, an e-tendering and
procurement service designed by MERX for the global airport industry.
Aerobidz, a subscription-based service, was recently launched to assist
ACI's 573 airport operator members with their procurement needs. Aerobidz was
specifically designed by MERX to enable ACI member airports and their
suppliers of goods and services to streamline the tendering process, reducing
distribution costs and time spent on the process.
As subscribers to the service, suppliers to airports benefit by gaining a
fast, simple and centralised location to view tender opportunities for over
1,640 airports worldwide. Aerobidz provide suppliers with greater flexibility
in ordering documentation for opportunities posted on Aerobidz, as well as
receiving immediate notification of amendments, and an alert service that
notifies them of new opportunities.
ACI Director General, Robert J. Aaronson, says, "The tendering process is
a vital component of any business improvement project. In our industry,
selecting the right supplier with the right product, at the right price, is an
essential ingredient for success. Airport management teams need access to both
local and global suppliers of specialised airport products and services. With
MERX's Web-based Aerobidz solution, different languages and time zones and
communications with a wider range of suppliers around the world become easier
to manage and increases efficiency for airports."
"Aerobidz is a great example of how MERX was able to apply its many years
of e-tendering expertise in conjunction with a partners' industry specific
knowledge to create a solution that benefits a global industry," added Paul
Saunders, MERX's President. "The benefits that buyers and suppliers receive by
using Aerobidz will both increase efficiency and save money in an industry
that is highly focused on these issues."
