LONGUEUIL, QC, Jan. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain
Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ)
wish to inform the public that the Montreal-bound and Chateauguay-bound left
lanes of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge will be closed to traffic from 11:59 pm on
Friday, January 9, until 11:59 pm on Saturday, January 10. The Montreal-bound
right lane will be closed on Sunday, January 11, from 3:00 am until 6:00 pm.
The current work is part of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge project and will be
to repair the steel structural columns spanning the Seaway. We urge all
motorists to exercise caution around the work and to respect the signage
installed on the bridge.
Also, please note that the work on the connection plates conducted during
the winter 2008 was completed on the federal portion of the Honoré-Mercier
Bridge as planned, and limited the number of closures to motorists.
