Member of Ontario Parliament Addresses Conference on Ethanol and Rail

HALIFAX, April 26 /CNW/ - Kevin Flynn, M.P.P. and Parliamentary Assistant
to the Ontario Minister of Energy, spoke today at the Railway Association of
Canada's conference on ethanol and rail.
Flynn spoke to more than 60 attendees who gathered in Mississauga to
learn what the emerging ethanol sector can mean for the Canadian economy and
railway industry.
"As Ontario works to reduce our carbon footprint, to encourage a culture
of conservation, and to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, I am pleased to
see the support and interest of a wide range of industry and community groups
across Ontario," Flynn told the crowd of municipal administrators, railway
operators and representatives, industry suppliers, and ethanol industry
representatives.
"Certainly, Ontario's rail system will play an important part in building
this new industry, providing a reliable, cost-effective and environmentally
sensible means to provide both feedstock to Ontario's burgeoning ethanol and
other bio-fuel plants, and moving the product to the eventual consumer," he
added.
The conference was being held at the Novotel Mississauga and began on
April 25 with a tour of Suncor's St. Clair ethanol plant. More than 20
attendees joined the tour in what was an informative look at the production of
ethanol.
