OTTAWA, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - On Friday October 12, Ottawa area youth will have
an opportunity to meet His Royal Highness The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex at
a reception celebrating the third year of TD Waterhouse's Investing in Youth
initiative. The national inner city outreach program was launched in 2005 to
increase participation of youth in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Programme.
Over 200 Ottawa youth between the ages of 14 and 25 will demonstrate some
of the activities they are undertaking as participants in The Duke of
Edinburgh's Award. The Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards are
achieved by attaining personally-established goals in community service,
skills development, physical recreation and an adventurous journey.
