of your artificial limb or calls you "peg leg" at school?
Child amputees from across Quebec attending The War Amps (CHAMP) Seminar
will get the answers today and learn to deal with other issues of growing up
as an amputee during the Growing up with CHAMP Session. Younger Champs will
have the chance to talk about things like teasing and staring, in a forum-like
discussion. Older Champs will offer advice and suggestions on how they dealt
with the same situations while growing up.

9:00 AM to 10:00 AM HEALTHY LIVING AND DAILY LIVING AIDS FOR
AMPUTEES (Plaza 1/Mozart Rooms)
This session is packed with information on how amputees can lead healthy
lives. Some very practical tips and advice on the day-to-day challenges of
living with an amputation are provided. Information on daily living aids and
tips on how to accomplish daily tasks faster and easier are introduced.
10:45 AM to 11:30 AM GROWING UP WITH CHAMP
(Plaza 1 Room)
This session deals with situations often encountered by Champs such as
name-calling, bullying, teasing and staring. Junior Counsellors will offer
advice and suggestions on overcoming these issues, continuing the tradition of
"amputees helping amputees."
