Media invitation - Université de Montréal to host inaugural colloquium of the International Forum of Public Universities October 11 and 12

    MONTREAL, Oct. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - On October 11 and 12, the Université de
Montréal will host the first international colloquium of a new university
consortium, the International Forum of Public Universities (IFPU), made up of
some twenty institutions on four continents.
In light of the growing recognition of the advantages students gain from
studying abroad and the benefits society gains when scientific researchers
work together, the forum aspires to support the advancement of society by
creating new models for international collaboration on education, teaching and
research.
This first gathering of the IFPU will allow member universities to plan
the activities and initiatives they can undertake to meet these needs. The
Universities, Public Policy and Internationalization colloquium will bring
together rectors and presidents of network members or their representatives,
university experts in public policy, representatives from the political world
and decision-makers from major non-governmental organizations.
