year runs from October 5th through to October 11th. Hundreds of schoolchildren
and a host of dignitaries will be on hand to hear our special guest speaker,
burn victim Michael Gaultois, who personifies this year's theme: It's Fire
Prevention Week - Prevent Home Fires(C). RBC Insurance will also discuss the
results of its just completed survey on the attitudes of Canadians towards
fire prevention and their state of preparedness in the event of a fire.

Fire Prevention Canada (FIPRECAN) profile
Fire Prevention Canada's mission is to increase the awareness of fire
prevention and safety through direct education of the public. The
organization's goal is to reduce the number of mostly preventable residential
fires across this country, many of which are fatal. The Council of Canadian
Fire Marshals and Fire Commissioners is a member of Fire Prevention Canada and
helps manage its affairs. FIPRECAN's Board of Directors is comprised of
representatives from the Council of Canadian Fire Marshals and Fire
Commissioners, the fire service and the public sector. FIPRECAN also creates a
yearly Fire Prevention Week Kit and organizes events surrounding Fire
