MONTREAL, June 8 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to
attend the business luncheon of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal on
Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at noon. Marcel Côté, Founding Partner, SECOR
Consulting, and Claude Séguin, Senior Vice-President, Corporate Development
and Strategic Investments, CGI, will be our guest speakers.
The Association des économistes québécois recently held its annual
congress, with Les grandes villes, moteurs de développement économique (Big
Cities, Motors for Economic Development) as its theme. Some 350 participating
economists - who had the opportunity to hear such leading international
experts as Nobel Prize winner Robert Lucas and Richard Florida - focused
specifically on Montréal's lack of economic strength and ways to remedy the
situation. Marcel Côté, Chairman of the congress, and Claude Séguin, Programme
Organizer, will present their summary of the discussions that took place,
within the framework of ten projects for Montréal that could allow the city to
return to its rightful economic position among major metropolises.
The speech will be delivered mainly in French.
