Media invitation - Montreal region invited to debate: Is globalization threatening our culture?



    MONTREAL, March 15 /CNW Telbec/ - Members of the media are invited to
attend, on March 16 and 17, Montreal's second regional meeting of the
Strategic Rendez-Vous on Culture, organized by the Institut du Nouveau Monde
(INM). The specific theme is What is Quebec culture becoming in times of
Internet and the planet ?
    The general public is invited to come and participate in a roundtable
discussion with prominent figures, such as Louise Beaudoin, associate
professor of the Department of Political Science at Université du Québec à
Montréal, Lorraine Pintal, artistic and general director of the Théâtre du
Nouveau Monde, Jean Gagnon, executive director of the Daniel Langlois
Foundation, and Simon Brault, president of Culture Montréal. The participants
will question if globalization is threatening our culture.
    The honorary chairpersons for these meetings for the greater Montreal
area (Montreal, Lanaudière, Laurentians, Laval, Montérégie) are author Dany
Laferrière and Louise Sicuro, president and director general of Journées de la
culture.
