MONTREAL, June 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Become a Chevrolet Tamer and experience
advanced driving courses with Patrick Carpentier, race car driver and
Chevrolet Tamers (Les Dompteurs de Chevrolet) spokesperson.
This special media day will be held tomorrow, June 19, at the Hippodrome
de Montreal. Richard Spénard, Robert Desrosiers and Paulette Charbonneau,
District Sales Manager - Chevrolet, General Motors of Canada along with the
entire team of seasoned racing instructors will be there to participate.
The Chevrolet Tamers program, presented for the second consecutive year,
is aimed at young drivers. You are therefore invited to bring along a young
driver aged 18 to 24 who will, just as yourself, be given valuable advice and
will be tested on technical challenges while being supervised by team of
The technical challenges begin at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be served starting
at noon, and you will be invited to tour the facilities and chat with the
professional drivers prior to heading out on the track with them. This year's
Chevrolet Tamers program includes three technical challenge modules (precision
driving, accident avoidance and emergency braking) along with a classroom
module on vehicle tuning. A brief overview of the latter module will be
presented during the media day.
This year, some 2,800 young people aged 18 to 24 will benefit from the
know-how of an experienced team of drivers, becoming aware of the potential
dangers of the road and learning safe driving techniques. Chevrolet Tamers
takes place in Montreal from June 20 to 28, and in Quebec City from July 5 to
