Media Bulletin - Returning Office Advance Poll Opens This Saturday



    TORONTO, Sept. 3 /CNW/ - Eligible electors in the September 17
by-election in the Electoral District of St. Paul's may vote at an advance
poll starting September 5 in the Returning Office.

    
    St. Paul's Returning Office Advance Poll
    21 Vaughan Road
    Toronto
    September 5 to September 10 (including Sunday)
    10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    

    At the Returning Office advance poll electors will cast their ballot
using a vote tabulator. If they want, they can vote using audio headphones and
a large keypad, foot pedals or a "sip and puff" device.
    In addition, area advance polls will be open during the hours of 10:00
a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from September 8 to September 10 at:

    
    Maurice Cody Public School
    364 Belsize Drive, Toronto

    Yorkminster Park Baptist Church
    1585 Yonge Street, Toronto

    Maria A. Shchuka Library
    1745 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto

    Castleview Wychwood Towers
    351 Christie Street, Toronto
    

    Eligible electors who did not receive a Notice of Registration card and
are not on the Voters List can have their name added at the advance poll and
cast their ballot while there. To have their name added to the List, electors
must show documents that provide proof of identity and proof of residence.
    To receive their ballots, electors will be asked to state their name and
place of residence and provide proof of identity to the poll officials.
Electors who are on the Voters List, but do not have proof of identity, can
make a declaration.
    To be eligible to vote, on Election Day, September 17, 2009, a person
must be:

    
    -  18 years of age or older and
    -  a Canadian citizen and
    -  a resident of the Electoral District of St. Paul's
    

    Electors who ceased to live in Ontario within the two years before
polling day may be entitled to vote under certain conditions and should
contact Elections Ontario for more information.
