TORONTO, Oct. 1 /CNW/ - Elections Ontario is reminding qualified electors
that advance poll opportunities continue this week until Thursday, October 4.
Advance voting will continue at returning offices from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Additional area advance polls are open across the province from 12 p.m. to
Qualified electors who did not receive a Notice of Registration card and
are not on the Voters List can have their name added at the advance poll and
cast their ballots while there. To have their name added to the List, electors
must provide documents that show proof of identity and proof of residence.
A change to electoral law requires electors to show documents that prove
their identity in order to receive their ballots. Electors who are on the
Voters List, but do not have proof of identity, can make a declaration.
Advance poll locations may be obtained by visiting www.elections.on.ca or
calling 1-888-ONT-VOTE (1-888-668-8683).
To be eligible to vote, on polling day a person must be:
- 18 years of age or older,
- Canadian citizen, and
- a resident of the electoral district.
Persons who ceased to live in Ontario within the two years before polling
day may be entitled to vote under certain conditions and should contact
Elections Ontario for more information.
