Media Availability: The Federal Budget and Funding for Post-secondary Education and Research



    OTTAWA, Jan. 26 /CNW Telbec/ - James Turk, executive director of the
Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), will be on Parliament Hill
and available to speak with the media in the Railway Committee Room following
the release of the budget on Tuesday afternoon, January 27.
    CAUT has outlined its proposals for the Federal Budget in a letter to
Finance Minister Flaherty, which emphasize the importance of investments in
post-secondary education and research for providing both much needed
short-term stimulus and long-term economic and social benefits. The letter is
