Toronto's Dara and Joe Birnboim raise money for the Therapeutic Clown
Program with a hand from Sunkist's "Take a Stand(R)" program
TORONTO, July 17 /CNW/ -
WHAT: Dara Birnboim and her twin brother Joe (7) join hundreds of
kids from across the country this summer by "taking a stand"
for a cause they care about thanks to support from Sunkist
Encouraging future philanthropists and entrepreneurs, Sunkist's
"Take a Stand" program squeezes some fun into summer by giving
kids the tools to support a charity of their choice by selling
freshly-squeezed Sunkist lemonade.
Dara and Joe pledged online at www.sunkist.com/takeastand to
sell freshly-squeezed lemonade to benefit the Therapeutic Clown
Program at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, as a way
to honour Adam Prusznowski who died of leukemia at age 8. While
Adam was ill, the Therapeutic Clowns at the Hospital for Sick
Children came and helped to lift his spirits. Adam's legacy
lives on through Adam's Dream Fund which enables 10,000
therapeutic clown visits to seriously ill and injured patients
each year. With their lemonade stand, Dara and Joe will be able
to make a difference one glass at a time.
