Media Alert/Photo Op: So You Think You Know T.O? Downtown Yonge Hosts Toronto Trivia Challenge at Yonge-Dundas Square

TORONTO, June 18 /CNW/ - The Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area is
transforming Yonge-Dundas Square into a battlefield for the minds on Wednesday
June 18th to kick off its fourth annual Discover Toronto Tour. Torontonians
and visitors are invited to put their knowledge to the test at the Discover
Toronto Trivia Game where competitors will answer questions, highlighted from
the tour, for full bragging rights and fabulous prizes including gift
certificates to Toronto attractions, top downtown restaurants, hotels,
retailers and services.
Created to enhance the public experience of Toronto's downtown core, the
Discovery Tour consists of a five-member multilingual Discovery Team who serve
as mobile ambassadors, offering free walking tours and information to visitors
twice a day from June 11th - August 31st. "This is a terrific initiative that
will send visitors home with the real Toronto story as told by Torontonians,"
said Mayor David Miller. "The mobile ambassador program is a great complement
to the Downtown Yonge area's strong offering of business, shopping and
entertainment." Torontonians and tourists can learn interesting pieces of
Toronto's rich history, like where many greats including Billie Holiday, Duke
Ellington and Frank Sinatra played; where famous Canadian artists The Group of
Seven hung out; where Canada's largest pipe organ is kept; and the only site
to host The Beatles in all three of their North American Tours.
