TORONTO, Oct. 19 /CNW/ - Journalists are invited to meet with Boisset La
Famille des Grands Vins President Jean-Charles Boisset on Tuesday October 23rd
Boisset is introducing French rabbit "petit" wines in a 250ml size (about two
glasses), for those times when she wants Pinot Noir for dinner and he prefers
to open a Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot.
First launched in Toronto in August 2005, French rabbit wines are now
available in seven countries, including France, where the trend to wine in
Tetra Pak is exploding. Jean-Charles Boisset will discuss how French rabbit
wines in Tetra Pak containers continue to be at the forefront of the trend to
wine in new convenient packages, a trend fueled by the wine world's desire to
reduce its carbon footprint and by consumer demand for more versatile, and
more portable wine containers. At the same time, ACNielsen has identified
single serve wines as the biggest trend in wine in North America right now,
growing at 15 percent a year. French rabbit "petit" will be available in sets
of four, exclusively at the LCBO.
Photo Op: Earlier this year, French rabbit sponsored its first annual
fashion award, inviting students from San Francisco's Academy of Art
University to design objects out of French rabbit containers. Two of the
winning dresses - which have also been shown at the Paris Prêt a Porter - will
be modeled at the tasting.
Photo Op: Boisset will also remit a cheque for $160,000 to Wildlife
Preservation Canada - a portion of sales of French rabbit at the LCBO have
been used to support the Natural Heritage Fund's project in support of the
Eastern Loggerhead Shrike. This donation brings Boisset's support to $320,000
toward re-establishng the predatory songbird in Ontario. WPC President Elaine
Williams will accept the cheque.
Jean-Charles Boisset is in Toronto October 22 and 23. He is available for
interviews at the Spoke Club, in the Gallery, from 1:30 to 3pm on
Tuesday October 23, 2007, or by prior arrangement.
WHERE: The Spoke Club, 600 King St. West, Toronto
