Media Alert - Reminder - Wait Time Alliance Fall Report - Five new sets of benchmarks



    OTTAWA, Nov. 23 /CNW Telbec/ - The Wait Time Alliance (WTA) will release
its 4th report including new wait-time benchmarks and performance goals for
five medical specialties: emergency care, psychiatric care, plastic surgery,
gastroenterology and anesthesiology. Theses clinical areas represent
specialities in which thousands of Canadians require treatment every day.
    The WTA will unveil and provide details on these benchmarks during a
technical briefing via teleconference with members of the media at 9:15am,
Monday, Nov. 26, 2007.

    The 4th report of the Wait Time Alliance will be formally released in a
speech by CMA Past-President Dr. Colin McMillan to a joint conference on wait
times co-hosted by Kingston General Hospital and Queen's University. "Wait
Times In Canada: Writing the 'Script for Success" will explore possible
solutions to this high-profile health care issue.
