Media alert - Paul Moist, CUPE national president challenges Minister of Finance Flaherty to strenghten securities regulation



    TORONTO, Oct. 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Paul Moist, Canadian Union of Public
Employees (CUPE) national president, yesterday challenged Minister of Finance
Flaherty to protect the investments of Canadians.
    In a letter to Flaherty, Moist said in part: "...If you are sincere in
the aims that you stated in the 2007 Budget to 'protect the investments of
Canadians...provide the highest standards of corporate governance, enforce our
laws vigorously and tackle white-collar-crime', then this is your chance to
act."
