OTTAWA, Jan. 26 /CNW Telbec/ - Canadian Medical Association President,
Dr. Robert Ouellet, will be available for comment before and following the
tabling of the Federal Budget on January 27, 2009.
CMA has recommended targeted investments in health infrastructure
including - upgrading health facilities, investing in electronic medical
records and modernizing hospital information systems. This will both stimulate
the economy and contribute to the health of Canadians.
Canada's doctors also called on the government to meet its commitments to
address the doctor shortage and crack down on the marketing of tobacco
products to children.
The CMA will provide a written statement to the media after the tabling
of the budget.
