Media Alert - Can a connection change the world? yes!

Western Union launches its first ever global brand campaign

    TORONTO, April 5 /CNW/ -

WHAT: With the recent turmoil in the global economy, it's at times
like these when interpersonal connections across global
boundaries become even more important. This is particularly
relevant in the Greater Toronto Area where many residents have
deep family links all over the world. In recognition of the
importance of staying connected - no matter how far apart you
live - Western Union is launching a new global brand campaign
called yes!, that reflects the optimism and hope inherent in
keeping connections strong. The yes! campaign celebrates how
Western Union makes it easier for families to stay connected by
facilitating person-to-person money transfers worldwide. The
campaign targets the 200 million people across the globe who
live outside their country of origin. It is estimated that
these consumers sent nearly $400 billion in remittances to
              their loved ones in 2008.(1)

The yes! campaign will debut in Toronto on April 5 during an
interactive street event at Yonge-Dundas Square with similar
initiatives planned in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and
Montreal throughout April. Street teams will use highly visual
tactics and collateral materials to reinforce Western Union's
relevance to Greater Toronto Area residents - particularly
those who have important worldwide family connections they need
              to sustain.

    WHEN: Sunday, April 5
              1 - 5 pm

    WHERE: Yonge-Dundas Square
Corner of Yonge and Dundas Streets
              Toronto
