Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity - George Brown College to hold memorial and march for 1989 Montreal massacre victims



    TORONTO, Dec. 6 /CNW/ - On Thursday, December 6, students from George
Brown College's Assaulted Women and Children Counselor/Advocate program will
be hosting a memorial to commemorate the lives of the 14 women slain at the
Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal eighteen years ago.
    As part of the memorial, George Brown president Anne Sado and members of
the College program will hold a candlelight vigil and a moment of silence,
followed by a rally and awareness march, starting from St. James Campus at 200
King Street East.
    Leanna Pendergast, the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister
Responsible for Women's Issues, Deb Matthews, will be participating in the
Memorial and will speak on behalf of the Minister.

            4TH Floor Foyer (a greeter will lead media to elevators on main
