WHAT: Ontario's favourite fair is finally here! The Opening Day
Parade marches through the Princes' Gates lined with floats,
marching bands, performers and acrobats - Grand Marshalled by
the First Family, who are the lucky winners to be
the first through the gates.
When: 10 am Where: Outside east end of Direct Energy Centre

WHAT: The official unveiling of the magnificent Quilt of Belonging,
the largest collaborative work of textile art to be created on
a national scale, will be presented following the parade. This
120 ft long quilt is comprised of 263 blocks each telling
stories of love, hope, peace, and is a lasting testimony to
Canada's multicultural heritage and identity.
When: 11 am Where: Direct Energy Centre, Heritage Court
MUST-SEES AT THE 2008 CNE!
Grand Illusion & Escape Artist Show - Featuring Kevin Ridgeway and
Kristen Johnson in a show brimming with dazzling special effects and
death-defying escapes, from the international award-winning stunt duo. Daily
4:30 pm and 7:30 pm; and 1:30 pm on weekends, Princes' Blvd. (North West
corner of Automotive Bldg).
Hippike: A Gypsy Legend - This sensational Cirque-inspired show is
complete with daredevil aerialists, magnificent horses, costumes and music
showcasing the equestrian arts from trick riding stunts to the ballet of
dressage. Daily 2 & 7 pm, Ricoh Coliseum.
Circus Orange in Jump Jet - Making its debut at the CNE, Circus Orange
takes flight in Jump Jet, a stunning outdoor high flying circus extravaganza
complete with pyrotechnics, acrobatics and circus theatre performances.
Nightly 9:45 pm, Newfoundland Drive beside Military display.
Kim Mitchell - Toronto Star Bandshell, 8 pm.
Wine Garden - South of Food Bulding, on west side, Noon - 10 pm.
Ribfest - Bandshell Park, 11 am - 10 pm.
