Media Advisory/Photo Op - Grade 12 Student Eden Full Wins the Inaugural Weston Youth Innovation Award

Ontario Science Centre Prize Recognizes Young Canadian Innovators

    TORONTO, May 28 /CNW/ - It's called Dynamic Photovoltaics, and it's been
Eden Full's passion since she was nine. The 17-year-old student from Calgary
has won the Weston Family Innovation award with a system that allows solar
panels to track the sun without using electricity or environmentally harmful
components. The system is simple to maintain and can be built in developing
countries using readily-available materials. For full details visit
www.ontariosciencecentre.ca/innovationaward/.
Eden will receive the award at a presentation at the Ontario Science
Centre in Toronto on Friday, May 29th. In addition, she will work with an
Ontario Science Centre multimedia team to create a short animation showcasing
her project to be displayed in the Weston Family Innovation Centre.
The $2000 Weston Youth Innovation Award was established to encourage and
recognize young Canadian innovators. It was named in recognition of The W.
Garfield Weston Foundation's $15 million lead gift to the Ontario Science
Centre's Agents of Change initiative, and to honour the Foundation's support
and commitment to education.
