Celebrity Chef Bob Blumer
at the Ontario Science Centre this weekend
TORONTO, Aug. 18 /CNW/ - This summer, celebrity chefs are dropping in on
the Ontario Science Centre to share and prepare recipes as part of the program
Food: Sink your teeth into science. The program explores the relationship
between food and science. This weekend, Bob Blumer will be hosting our weekend
feature: Food Science - Unearthed. Blumer will prepare popcorn cauliflower,
pub bread and gravlax while food scientists and dieticians explain the
processes of caramelization and salt curing. Demonstrations are included in
the price of admission.
WHEN: Aug. 22 & 23 at 11:30 am and 2 pm
WHAT: Bob Blumer explores what happens when sugars in a vegetable
caramelize, how beer can give bread a boost, and how you can
"cook" fish using sugar and salt.
WHO: Bob Blumer is a "culinary adventurer", host and creator of
television series "The Surreal Gourmet" and "Glutton for
Punishment" and author of four cookbooks. The transplanted
Canadian lives in Hollywood, California.
