BACK TO SCHOOL ANYWHERE, ANYTIME:
The ILC's graduating class of 2007 - ages 19 to 59 - attain their high
school diplomas or equivalency certificates. Speakers include Kathleen Wynne,
Ontario Minister of Education; Sarah Irwin, Managing Director of ILC; Peter
O'Brian, Chair of TVO's Board of Directors; and Lisa de Wilde, CEO of TVO.
Who: TVO's Independent Learning Centre (ILC)
What: ILC's adult students from across Ontario celebrate their
achievement at the annual Graduation and GED Awards Ceremony.

When: Saturday November 10, 2007

Ceremony begins at 3:30 pm
Where: The Royal Ontario Museum
100 Queen's Park, Toronto
Why: To honour adult Ontarians of varying backgrounds and
circumstances who have obtained their high school diplomas
through distance education, and those who have passed the General
Educational Development (GED) test to earn a high school
equivalency certificate. Both the high school diploma and GED are
offered by TVO's Independent Learning Centre.
Interviews are available following the graduation ceremony.
TVO administers the Independent Learning Centre (ILC), the province's
designated provider of distance education. ILC provides distance education in
English and French for Ontario residents. ILC's unique blended learning model
and suite of resources, including GED testing and free tutoring, enable
students to earn a high school diploma, upgrade their skills, and achieve
their academic and career goals at a pace, time, and place of their choosing.
