    WHY: The Trans Health Lobby Group supports the amendment to the Ontario
         Human Rights Code to include 'gender identity' as an enumerated
         ground.

    Transsexual and transgender people face harassment and discrimination in
their daily lives including significant barriers to employment, housing, and
services. Amending the Ontario Human Rights Code to include specific
protection for transsexual and transgender people will help to address this
inequality and is a political priority for the Trans Health Lobby Group.

    The Trans Health Lobby Group is a committee of the Rainbow Health
Network, a Reference Group of the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in
Ontario.
